The same engine lineage: both use the 1.6 THP from the family PSA developed with BMW. In the Peugeot 308 it makes 156 hp and works with an automatic; in the Citroën DS4 it makes 200 hp with a six-speed manual. The DS4 is quicker, slightly raised and more striking, but its rear windows do not open. For comfort in traffic choose the 308 automatic; for driving pleasure and changing gear yourself, the DS4.

2.0 diesel, 136–163 PS, 320–340 Nm, 163 PS version automatic only
The two-litre diesel gave the 308 plenty of torque, and the strongest 163 PS version came only with an automatic. If you want a 308 with an automatic, our THP is the petrol alternative, quieter in town and livelier away from the lights.
